Refunds & Cancellations

All Gap Insurance policies supplied by Direct Gap have a 30-day cooling off period.

You may cancel a Gap Insurance policy within 30 days of the policy purchase date and obtain a full refund by contacting Direct Gap.

After 30 days, provided that no claim has been made you may cancel the insurance policy and receive a pro-rata refund of the premium paid for each unexpired month cover, calculated at the date the cancellation request is received by Direct Gap. Any applicable arrangement fees are non-refundable outside of 30 days.

However, if a claim has been submitted or you have elected to use the free vehicle transfer option during this period, no refund will apply.

Ancillary products including Tyre & Alloy Insurance and Scratch & Dent Insurance policies have a 30-day cooling off period where a full refund will be provided (if no claim has been made). If you cancel any of these insurances after the first 30 days of the policy issue date, a pro rata refund will be given less a £35 cancellation fee, and any outstanding premium instalments must be paid in full.
